FASTING

Soup & Stations

Friday, February 27 and Friday, March 13

6:00 - 7:30pm

 

  • Eat  a light soup supper

  • Learn about ways to help those in need (speaker at 6:15pm)

  • Pray the stations of the cross (6:45pm)

  • Please bring a can of soup to donate to a local food pantry.

Free. Family-friendly. All are welcome!

Fast & Abstinence

Abstinence

Fridays in Lent are obligatory days of abstinence (meatless meals) for Catholics age 14 and up.

 

Fasting

Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of Fast and Abstinence.

 

When fasting, a person is permitted one full meal. Two smaller meals may also be taken, but not to equal a full meal. 

 

Fasting is obligatory from age 18 until 59.
